In a new extension to a Guernsey cottage, I’ve made up three very wide full length unlined Roman blinds in a Sanderson embroidered fabric, fitted on Roman blind tracks (the best option for large blinds). There is also a sofa with a loose cover made of fabric with a wide stripe, and a selection of cushions, all working well with the overall colour scheme. In other rooms, because the windows are quite small, Roman blinds have been the best option throughout; in a child’s room the blind is in a Pirate Map fabric, on the landing a design of embroidered birds on a printed background, and in the lounge a more traditional damask print.
